Keep Washington’s communities connected.<\/h2>\n

Humanities Washington’s programs are free and open to the public because of generous donations from people like you.<\/p>\n

And right now, the need is particularly strong.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In early April, DOGE illegally cancelled or rescinded hundreds of National Endowment for the Humanities grant contracts nationwide, including those of Humanities Washington. In our state, $10 million was taken from the cultural sector. This will have a devastating impact on our programs and the communities we serve.<\/p>\n

In response, the Federation of State Humanities Councils, with support from the Mellon Foundation, provided emergency funding that includes matching funds.<\/p>\n
